Can cook....but wont!
After many hours of hard work, the stage (or should I say dining room table) was set to stage my 'Come dine with me'.
This was all accompanied with a side salad. I must confess I did burn my hand when removing the bread from the oven. (ouch!!)
I didn't realise there were so many different ways to fold a napkin...luckily my days as a waitress came in handy.
As the dinner guest started to arrive, it was time to serve up the canapes and cocktails.
I only remembered to take the photo after the majority had been eaten.
It was then time for the starter which could have gone disastrously wrong. I was very lucky!
However I have just realised I didnt take any photos....grrrrrr.
There was certainly clean plates all round.
Now time for my lasagne and homemade bread.

After much delightful conversation, it was time for chocolate!!
The overwhelming conclusion was that Nic can indeed cook....but wont!!

Getting ready...
So the day before my 'come dine with me' and I have been extremely busy. I started by making the amazing white chocolate cheesecake. Luckily, after much bashing with a rolling pin I managed to break the biscuits up to make the base. I must confess (on my first attempt) that I didn't seal the bag properly and some pesky biscuits escaped.
I then broke up all of the white chocolate into small pieces.
I then had a potential disaster....I blame the cookery book! I seemed to have way too much mix for the cheesecake. It said it would serve 8 people, more like 180. The Coles family will be eating cheesecake for weeks.
This was then placed in the oven.I will post a picture of the finished cheesecake tomorrow.
Whilst still full of energy, I made the macaroons. I was going to make strawberry ones, but discovered we had no red food colouring. Therefore, I made lemon ones instead.
Quite a productive afternoon! :)

Come dine with me- The rules!
These will take place over a number of weeks. The first one will be at Nic's on Monday.
All you need to do is to sort out a three course meal menu and these will be sent to you and each week it will be hosted at each others houses. We will decide the order at the first party.
If you commit to this, then you will have to make sure you can come to all of them. They will be held on the same day each week to make it easier for everyone to organise.
At the end of each dinner party, we will all email Justin our scores and he will then reveal the winner at the last one (to be held at Kim's)
Each week we will all put into the pot £2 at every party and the winner will get the money.
The rules:
-No ready meals or shop bought desserts etc
-No help from other people (husbands & parents)
-Once your menu has been emailed (before first dinner party) then you can't change it
-You must attend every dinner party
-No sniffing for information what people like or dont like, just cook what you want to.
-If everyone has any allergies or dietary requirements (not do not like) then please let us know.
